The Bridge in Action
How 100 Black Men of DeKalb County builds pathways for young men, families, and the community.
Building pathways that last
100 Black Men of DeKalb County exists to help young men see what is possible and build practical pathways toward it. Through mentoring, education, health and wellness, economic empowerment, and leadership development, the chapter connects youth and families to relationships, opportunities, and experiences that help shape a stronger future.
The work is grounded in a simple belief: young people are more likely to reach their potential when they can see examples of integrity, achievement, service, and resilience around them. Mentors and Volunteers help create that environment through consistent presence, accountability, encouragement, and access to opportunities that may otherwise feel out of reach.
The bridge in action
The chapter describes its role as a bridge between where young men are and where they are destined to be. That bridge is built through structured youth programs, dedicated mentors, community partnerships, academic support, safe spaces to grow, and experiences that expand a young person’s view of what is possible.
From leadership development and academic enrichment to international exposure, wellness initiatives, financial literacy, and career readiness, the goal is not simply to offer an event. The work is designed to strengthen character, confidence, and long-term capacity for young people and the broader community.
Part of a national movement
100 Black Men of DeKalb County advances this work locally as part of the wider 100 Black Men of America movement. The national organization’s Four For The Future framework centers mentoring, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment, giving chapters a proven foundation while allowing them to meet the needs of their own communities.
